The right interval depends more on how a vehicle is used than the calendar.
There's no single number that fits every vehicle. A car that sits in a garage on weekends needs a lot less attention than one that handles a daily commute through winter salt and summer construction dust.
As a general starting point, a full interior and exterior detail every three to four months keeps most daily drivers in good shape between details. Vehicles used for work, ride-share, or with kids and pets on board usually do better on a tighter schedule, closer to every six to eight weeks for the interior.
Exterior protection is a separate question from cleaning frequency. A wash keeps the surface clean, but a wax finish is what actually slows down how fast salt, UV, and road grime take a toll on the paint over a GTA winter.
If it's been longer than six months since your last detail, or you're not sure where your vehicle stands, the easiest way to find out is to have someone take a look at it directly.
